How Ensys continues to innovate with Sollit

Leading the energy transition

Since its founding in 2012, Ensys has developed into a leading expert in renewable energy technologies. What started with a focus on PV systems has now grown into a broad portfolio consisting of solar panels, air conditioners, heat pumps, charging stations and home batteries.

After five years, Bart Talpe joined as a partner, at a time when Ensys still consisted of only a handful of employees and one installation crew. Under his co-ownership, the company has grown into an organization with more than 50 employees and multiple installation crews.

To realize their growth ambitions, Ensys was looking for ways to make their processes more efficient and scalable. This is where Sollit came in.

Challenge 1: Internal growth requires automation

In Ensys' early years, sales, quotations and scheduling were largely managed with Excel and Teamleader. Although this was adequate initially, the company was growing at a rapid pace, making the existing way of working less and less efficient.

During the InterSolution trade show, the company discovered that Sollit could not only provide a solution for their quotation and sales process. It also offers functionalities for planning and after-sales as well as being an end-to-end solution for the entire business process. This convinced them to enter into the partnership.

Challenge 2: Dealing with an unpredictable market

In addition to internal process optimization, Ensys also faced external challenges. The renewable energy market is in full development and has major fluctuations, both in demand and regulations. Bart Talpe explains, "It is a young and fast-growing sector in which you have to be strong as a company. You have to be able to switch quickly to absorb the blows of the volatile market. Sollit helps us with that. The platform unburdens us and prevents us from getting caught up in time-consuming matters. All the information is in one central place, allowing us to act quickly and make the right decisions."

Thanks to Sollit, Ensys now has better insight into:

  • Real-time scheduling and materials management, allowing installation teams to work more efficiently.

Talpe describes the implementation as a smooth and pleasant cooperation, with short lines of communication and plenty of room for customization: "Sollit's platform is not a standard total package, but can be fully customized to a company's needs. That makes the system unique and ensures that it fits our way of working perfectly."

At Ensys, customization played an important role in choosing Sollit. They are an innovative company that strives to stay innovative. For example, they were one of the first to sell the energy platform "FlexiO - smart control. It manages and provides insight into the energy generation and consumption of homes and businesses.

To support their goals, the team had specific requirements, such as:

  • More control over the billing process through automated billing prompts.
  • Producing professional quotes quickly and accurately through customizable quote templates.
  • Better advising customers on the expected yield and benefits of home batteries with customized calculations and comparisons between different battery systems.

With these modifications, Ensys used the software for standard sales processes and also to strengthen their growth and innovation power.

In addition, Sollit's scheduling tool allows technicians to get all the necessary information from the system in advance, such as bills of materials, allowing them to work more efficiently. In addition, they can use the mobile app to complete a digital completion document directly and as completely as possible on site.

Ensys and Sollit build further together with innovation as spearhead

Innovation is in Ensys' DNA. Together with Kim Corten, director at Ensys, Bart Talpe sets the goal every year to work on a new development. For example, they are currently working with Sollit on automation within service contracts. The goal?

  • Closing ±100 extra service contracts through smart automation
  • Less administrative burden for the team
  • Serve customers faster and more efficiently

Talpe emphasizes how the partnership with Sollit fits perfectly with Ensys' innovative vision: "We continue to think ahead. Sollit's flexibility allows us to keep adding new features and automations that fit our strategy. That makes it not just a software partner, but a true growth partner."

Thanks to the streamlined workflow, 90% of the customer file is already prepared by the sales department, allowing inspection and installation teams to start working immediately with the correct data. This minimizes errors and avoids delays.

More time for consulting and customer contact

Where sales representatives previously spent a lot of time on administrative tasks, they can now fully focus on the customer. Talpe explains: "Thanks to Sollit, the quotation process has been made 'dummy-proof' so that our sales reps can now spend more time with our customers and no longer spend their evenings doing administration. Everything they enter is processed automatically, which makes the work more efficient and gives a more professional image to our customers. This gives our salespeople more support to give good advice and convince the customer of Ensys as an installer and service partner."

Mechanics work more efficiently with the mobile app

With the integrated planning tool, installation teams have all information available in advance, such as bills of materials and project details. On site, they can immediately complete a digital completion document via the mobile app, including photos of the installation. This ensures a faster and error-free process.

Insight into conversion and lead quality

Through the reporting capabilities within Sollit, Ensys now has a clear picture of where their leads are coming from and which channels are most effective. This allows them to make more targeted investments in quality lead generation and optimally manage the sales team.

Ensys' future with Sollit

Ensys continues to innovate and is constantly looking for ways to work even more efficiently and customer-focused. With Sollit as their software partner, they want to in the coming years:

  • Further expand the HVAC branch to achieve a 50/50 balance with solar installations
  • Complete the implementation of service and maintenance contracts and scale up this project with smart automations
  • Shift the balance between B2B and B2C from 85/15 to 50/50

Talpe concludes, "Sollit gives us the tools to continue to grow without sacrificing efficiency. It helps us in the present, but also provides a solid foundation for the future."
