Inspiring stories from the women of Sollit

5 march 2026

International Women’s Day is a moment to reflect on progress, highlight inspiring stories and recognise the people who help shape organisations every day. At Sollit, inclusion and growth are part of our culture year round.

To celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day, we spoke with several women across our organisation about their experiences, their work and the advice they would give to others starting their careers.

Their stories show that career growth is not always linear, but that trust, collaboration and the opportunity to be yourself can make all the difference.

Astrid: Creating space for ideas and development

As Head of HR at Sollit, Astrid and her team focus on the entire employee journey, from attracting new talent to supporting personal and professional development. No two days are the same,” she explains. “Together with my team, we are responsible for everything related to our people. From recruiting new talent to onboarding and supporting growth. That variety makes the work incredibly rewarding.

For Astrid, inclusion is not just a concept but something that should be visible in everyday collaboration. To me, inclusion means that everybody counts. Anyone can have a great idea or perspective that is worth sharing. At Sollit we actively encourage people to speak up and share their thoughts, whether they are an expert on the topic or just bringing in a fresh perspective.

She also values the opportunities to keep developing herself.
I feel supported because I’m able to invest in both personal and professional development. I’m also challenged to explore opportunities that might be new to me.

According to Astrid, the company culture plays a big role in this. People genuinely support and care about each other here. Within both the HR team and the management team we work closely together with open communication and a lot of trust. In my opinion, trust is the foundation of any strong collaboration.

Her advice for women starting their careers is simple but powerful. Don’t be your own blocker. Trust your instincts and your knowledge, and don’t be afraid to speak up.

Jolijn: Growth through experience and teamwork

Jolijn has been working at Sollit for several years and currently works in customer support, where she helps customers solve issues and provides advice on how they can best use the platform. In addition, she also contributes to office management.

For her, the most rewarding part of the job is the direct connection with customers. There is nothing more satisfying than ending a phone call knowing you were able to help someone. Sometimes it’s about solving a problem, sometimes it’s just about having a good conversation and making sure someone feels heard.

Looking back on her time at Sollit, she is particularly proud of her personal development. If I compare myself to who I was seven years ago, it’s a world of difference. My journey has sometimes felt like a wild rollercoaster, but it has also been incredibly educational and eye opening.

For Jolijn, inclusion is closely connected to authenticity. It means being able to be yourself and feeling appreciated for what you contribute.

She also emphasises the supportive culture within the organisation. People listen to you and think along with you about how to approach your ideas and ambitions.

The sense of community is something she values greatly. From the beginning, Sollit felt like one big family. People are involved with the organisation and with each other.

Within the support team, collaboration plays a major role. We are a close team. We constantly exchange ideas about how we can improve things and how customers can get even more value from the platform.

Her advice for women starting their careers reflects the lessons she learned along the way. Be yourself. Don’t force yourself to become someone you’re not. And don’t panic if things don’t go perfectly the first time. The world doesn’t end if something goes wrong, you can always try again.

Lorena: A shared mission and diverse perspectives

Lorena recently joined Sollit as part of the Spanish team, and immediately noticed the collaborative and supportive atmosphere within the team. What I enjoy most about my job is the creative process that begins with brainstorming shared goals and ideas,” she says. “At Sollit that kind of collaboration truly exists.

For her, work is not just about completing tasks. It’s a mission. I love connecting with our customers, speaking with them and listening to their perspectives. You learn so much from them, and it helps you see details you might never have imagined before.

After more than two decades working in a traditionally male dominated sector in Spain, inclusion has a very specific meaning for her. Inclusion is the genuine acceptance of different visions. Diversity of thought is not just a policy, it is a tool that allows us to build better solutions. When people bring different perspectives, you notice things that might otherwise be overlooked.

Trust is another factor that she feels strongly at Sollit. It’s not only about access to learning resources. The trust placed in me is incredibly empowering. Hearing ‘What do you need? Let’s look into it together’ opens the door to continuous growth.

Even after only a short time in the organisation, she already feels the strength of the team culture. Collaboration is about building together. Since my first day, I’ve felt a team that genuinely helps and supports each other. They understand that your success is also their success.

What makes Sollit special for her is the balance between professionalism and a supportive environment. It’s a place where you can feel happy and at peace while you work. When you feel respected and comfortable, commitment comes naturally.

Reflecting on her own career journey, Lorena shares an important lesson. Early in my career I believed that only technical knowledge would earn you a place in this sector. Over time I realised that technical skills can be taught. What really makes the difference is vision, purpose, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with a strong team.

And perhaps the most important insight she gained over time: Mistakes are not the real problem. The real problem is letting fear stop you from trying.

Building an inclusive future together

The experiences of Astrid, Jolijn and Lorena highlight how inclusion and growth go hand in hand. When people feel heard, supported and trusted, they can develop their talents and contribute to meaningful progress.

At Sollit, supporting women’s careers is not limited to a single day. It is something we strive to do every day by creating an environment where people can grow, collaborate and bring their ideas to life.
