Sollit stories: Meet Melisa

16 september 2026

Who are you and what is your role at Sollit?

I am Melisa, a 24-year-old Data Engineer. I came from Istanbul to study my passion in Groningen, and I started my work life here afterwards. Staying in the Netherlands wasn't my plan, but I slowly fell in love with the country over the years.

I started working at Sollit about a year ago. With the increasing demand for AI technologies and the need for data, I am the first in my position to work at Sollit. I mainly ensure data quality and safety for our clients to make reliable business decisions. As a former ML engineer, I also train models and help utilize new technologies to make our clients' lives easier.

I'm similar outside of work, always looking for new challenges and hobbies. I enjoy gaming, sports, traveling, and arts and crafts of all kinds in my free time.

How has your role evolved since you started?

I started here with a big goal: improve data-driven decisions. My initial tasks were managing the Snowflake data cloud and optimizing it.

With time, this role has expanded to include analytics and help build dashboards. I have the flexibility to work with my colleagues on other development projects like ML or prepare data models for other teams' projects.

What makes working at Sollit special to you?

With AI coding, development happens much faster now. Sollit's flexible project structure makes it enjoyable to work across teams and finish large-scale projects fast. To get ahead as a software company, good communication and innovative ideas are the only way forward in today's market. Our speed in delivering products at Sollit comes from exactly this: brilliant teamwork and taking initiative.

What does the value “Being entrepreneurial” mean to you in practice?

Being entrepreneurial means constantly thinking outside the box and taking action on those ideas. When I notice a repetitive task, instead of just getting frustrated by it, I ask whether it's worth automating, weighing the effort against the benefit. That mindset, spotting friction and deciding when it's worth fixing, is what entrepreneurial thinking looks like to me day to day.

What  are you most proud of at Sollit?

I am proud of how we are advancing data and AI technologies. One year ago, our Snowflake platform was too expensive without much functionality. With the team, we expanded this platform in every way.

We established data lakes from all Sollit sources into Snowflake. Thanks to this, all our clients can now export their own data. Furthermore, we improved our internal data analysis — from dashboards to AI-powered chatbots that answer all our questions, and development is still ongoing.
